Getting Accepted
Mosaic accepts stories, creative nonfiction, and essays on a wide vaiety of topics, but we are primarily interested in heartfelt pieces that speak to the human condition. We're looking for stories that stir up our emotions, make us think, and stick with us long after we've read them.
Pieces should generally be less than 3,000 words in length. You can expect to hear back from us in 2-3 weeks.
How to Submit
- Email your piece to contact@mosaicpub.com. Please only send one submission per email.
- Please include your name with the exact spelling you would like for your author byline.
- We prefer pieces to be submitted via Word Docs, Google Docs or text files.
Our Process
We take an editorial approach to the publication. This means if your piece is accepted, we'll do a full round of edits. Relative to other publications, our edits tend to be quite thorough, so don't be surprised if you see a lot of comments. With rare exceptions, you should feel free to accept or reject our edits, but keep in mind we're trying to make your story the best it can be.
Your Work, Your Rights
Any and all content contributed by you to Mosaic is owned by you, and you retain sole copyright over the materials you have submitted. You maintain the right to publish your content elsewhere, online or offline, at any time and without any credit to Mosaic. By contributing content to our website, you are granting Mosaic a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use your content in connection with the operation of the website, including, without limitation, the license rights to copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, edit, translate and reformat your content. We may also from time to time use a brief excerpt from your content to promote your work, and Mosaic, on Facebook or Instagram.
